Enter the Write Brain Theater for our monthly Insomniac Block; our monthly virtual all-night movie marathon hosted by founders Kevin Ronca & Marc Rubendall! This month we continue to investigate the history between Hollywood & the War Machine so this marathon is all about one the dirty word in the American vernacular; PROPAGANDA. Only in the United States is this word used in a derogatory sense (despite making up 99% of Hollywood content & mainstream media reporting), but around the world its embraced as a celebrated genre of cinema & necessary tool in any fight for liberation. In addition to that, propaganda films spanning the last century make up some of the most artistic, hard-hitting, & ground-breaking works in any country’s film canon, specifically when it fuses together a beautiful grasp of the cinematic language & the voice of the people.

From films made during Mao’s cultural revolution to the anti-imperialist masterpiece The Battle Of Algiers, we’ve 6 films spanning nearly 12 hours. Come to the virtual theater anytime for discussions & introductions of these films by our hosts!
