Description
It’s about that time of season for a brand-new wave of Write Brain Video limited edition VHS tapes to add to our growing library of physical media releases! Our last 6 drops have been sold out since last year, but this brand-new batch will feature 25 copies of each; a few on rare colored tape for a few bucks more!
The controversial Mexican underground queer punk film that shocked the censors & drew universal praise from the Write Brain community finally comes to physical media! As part of our new Fatal Frames series, this line will explore & preserve some of the best up-and-coming underground auteurs from around the world. In this faux documentary that blends fact & fiction, CIA follows an amateur bourgeoise filmmaker that decides to make a documentary about the notorious Mexican street punk gang Club Internacional Aguerridos (CIA) with a reputation for street brawls, robberies, drugs, violence, & even murder. But when the director falls in love with the leader of the gang, the blurred line between filmmaker & subject blurs. Soon, he becomes an active participant in the crimes, falling deeper under the spell of the charismatic leader leading to the films shocking conclusion.
Directed & self-financed by underground visionary Jose Leandro Cordova & featuring real Mexican punk bands, rockers, & criminals, CIA is the perfect blend of beauty & brutality, a bullet-riddled ballet of drugs, sex, & violence.
These 25 copies are on a standard black VHS. Each tape comes in a clamshell with high-gloss reversible covers, giving you the final decision of which version you sport on the shelf with the rest of your collection.
