Sunday Virtual Matinee (11/17)
(Virtual) (Doors open 3pm EST-5pm EST)
Prepare to spend an afternoon with dopers, junkies, & dealers in this pre-code drugsploitation masterpiece!
In the vein of such outdated & hilarious drug hysteria cinema as “Reefer Madness” & “Assassins Of Youth”, this Sunday Matinee covers the prevailing issue of addiction in America through the propaganda-laden lens of some of its most mediocre filmmakers to create a campy & hilarious explosion of bad acting, outdated tropes, & even a casting a caucasian actor to play an asian man in some of the most unconvincing & offensive cases of “yellow-face” we’ve ever seen!
Shot over a span of 8 months & penned by a female screenwriter, which was almost unheard of at the time, this cautionary tale of a medical student that begins getting high on his own supply leading to a life of opium drug dens, wild parties, & carnival freakshows (no seriously), is something you don’t wanna miss!
This Sunday matinee is free to the public. Doors open 3pm EST!
